when controlled, they’ll be spinning on the spot after doing two steps facing one direction, if that makes sense. I’ve only done these directions so far, and roughly at that.

okay so first I open photoshop. If you don’t know how to do this then get out, you have no chance at being an gif artist. Then I zoom up until I like the size of the squares.

then I make the art. This will be your first frame! Name the layer if you want, idgaf

then I duplicate that layer and make ~subtle changes~ to it in order to make the next frame of the animation. Who’d have thunk it???? Not you if you’re still reading this.

TIME TO ANIMATE. You need the animation window open first, genius. It’s here
then I press some buttons until each frame has a different layer shown on it, in the order I want the animation. Also your animation bit might not look like this when you open it for the first time, there’s a button that changes it, idk, have a look. oh also you can change the time between frames, isn’t that neat.
once I’m happy with how the pixels move on the screen I like to size it up. I think squares look nicer bigger. Maybe you don’t! Skip this if you don’t. Get out if you don’t. I was zoomed up 600% so I sized it up by that amount. Make sure that you select the nearest neighbour option!
cool now it’s time to save it so you can show it to your pals. Save it like this
